Use syllable counting clip cards to practice recognizing the number of syllables in words. Include the cards in a language arts center along with a supply of clothes pins or paper clips. Students say the name of the image (or the word) on the card and then use the clothes pin or clip to mark the 1, 2, or 3 on the card. If the teacher prefers, he or she can mark the correct answer on the back so the student can self check!

Each page has six cards: two with one syllable words, two with two syllable words, and two with three syllable words. The 48 cards are included twice: once with pictures, and again with words.
