These color and size match cards are pages of graphics intended to be used with small rainbow counters, such as frogs and bears, which are available in rainbow colors and three sizes. If you do not have your own counters, use the circles on page 9 or create your own. Page 3 to 5 allow the child to place lily pads in a pond; these would work with frog counters. Pages 6 through 8 allow the child to place caves in a field; these would work with bear counters. Children can place the lily pads or caves and then match the frogs or bears of the matching colors. Blank lily pads and caves have also been included for your convenience.
Next are extra-large sized colored lily pads (pages 10-12) and caves (pages 13-18). Children may wish to sort an entire container of counters in to the appropriate lily pads or caves using these larger sizes.
Finally, pages 19 and 20 provide lily pads and caves, respectively, in sizes small/medium/large for children to sort the manipulatives into the proper sizes if desired.
As you present your child with the counters, ask them questions about the colors and sizes. You can match colors as well, and see if the child notices when you (intentionally) make a mistake.
Learning to sort items by color and sizes will help young children in mathematics readiness! Using manipulatives such as frogs and bears makes it all the more fun.
Physical counters are not included in this digital-only download!
