Practice counting and adding up to 20 with these ornaments, trees, and ten frames.
Ten Frames: Included in this product are ornament ten frames up to 20 (1-10 in purple/pink, 11-20 in orange/yellow); two plain Christmas trees; trees with 1-10 pink/purple ornaments; trees with 1-10 orange/yellow ornaments; and four pages with ornaments labeled from 1-20 in the four colors along with addition, subtraction and equals signs.
Manipulatives for one-to-one correspondence: We use colorful pompoms to practice counting and sorting the ornaments. Any small manipulative would work, including small stones, stickers, translucent counting tiles, or candies. When students practice one-to-one correspondence in such a way, they can also transfer the items from a tree to a ten frame to determine the number as they count.
Adding and Subtracting: For higher level students, have them choose two or more tree cards and determine the sum or difference. Or, use the numbered ornaments to do equations as a class, make a number line, or otherwise practice adding and subtracting numbers up to 20.
