Help students to draw conclusions based on the two early readers, Sam the Minuteman and George the Drummer Boy by Nathaniel Benchley. These two books provide the perspective of American boy and a member of British army, respectively, during the skirmish at Lexington and Concord. Read together, these two books may help provide students with a more rounded look at what happened in April 1775. The two books are NOT included.
- A Venn Diagram and then a page with sentences frames encourages the students to compare and contrast the two main characters. The page is also repeated without sentence frames and without primary-grade lines.
- A KWL chart and a book list will allow students to have a format for gathering information for a personal research project on Lexington and Concord.
