This product contains two book study packets with comprehension questions and writing prompts, vocabulary review, and extension pages correlating to the following early readers:

• Sam the Minuteman by Nathaniel Benchley, with pictures by Arnold Lobel (HarperCollins, 1969). The book is about a boy at the battle of Lexington (the “Shot Heard Round the World”) during the American Revolution.
• George the Drummer Boy by Nathaniel Benchley, with pictures by Don Bolognese (HarperCollins, 1977). The book is about a British drummer boy for the British army in Boston who is present at the battles of Lexington/Concord (the “Shot Heard Round the World”) during the American Revolution.
